in player development... is proud to announce its 2008
Winter Junior Academy Program offerings.
Futures
Program - (Introductory Phase - Ages 5-8)
The
Futures Program is intended as a positive introduction
to 'The Beautiful Game" for those interested in developing
their soccer skills at an early age in a child friendly
learning environment. Emphasis is placed on age-appropriate
fundamental skill development, general coordination and
motor skill development, and helping develop a passion
for the game. The need to win at this stage is de-emphasized.
Eight (8) weeks totaling eight (8) one-hour sessions
of Age Appropriate Skill Development Training on Friday
evenings @ Wardlaw~Hartridge School in Edison,
NJ, beginning January 14 through March
14, 2008.
Session I > 6:15 - 7:15 pm > U5 - U8
Curriculum and training is provided by Malcolm
Murphy, Director of Coaching & Player Development and our
staff coaches.

Junior
Academy Program - (Fundamental Phase - Ages 9-12)
The
Match Fit Junior Academy Program is an Elite Level age
appropriate skill development program instructed by accomplished
MFAFC Staff Coaches. The program is specifically designed
to identify and correct potential technical weaknesses,
improve and develop each player's qualities, and most
importantly... develop the player's confidence to compete
at a higher level. The curriculum is based on developing
the overall player and teaches players to solve problems
in all areas of the field. Through our constantly updated
curriculum we can ensure that attending players and coaches
receive the most up-to-date technical training available.
Each Junior Academy player will experience the latest
trends in running, balance and coordination training;
technical applications of the game through constant repetition
and dynamic movements.
Weekly training topics will include...
Technical Mastery, Dribbling, Shooting, Passing, Challenging,
Heading and Tactical Awareness with or without the possession,
and goalkeeping. We are precise in our curriculum and
we are demanding. Students gain a sense of confidence
and also leave with a clear plan to control their own
personal development in the years ahead.
Eight (8) weeks
totaling sixteen (16) ninety-minute sessions of Advanced
Age Appropriate Skill Development Training on Monday
and Wednesday evenings @ Wardlaw~Hartridge School in Edison,
NJ, beginning January 7 through March
14, 2008.
Session I > 6:00 - 7:30 PM > U9 - U10
Session II > 7:30 - 9:00 PM > U11 - U12
